If you work with kids groups then this is an easy way to prepare a breakfast for them, Davy has been doing it this way for a long time and I now see it used a lot in other places, it's an idea well worth experimenting with.
All the needed ingredients, eggs from the hens in my back garden, ham, cheese and Davy found some tricorn garlic growing where we set up, perfect for that added little kick
add all the ingredients to a good quality zip lock bag and mush them up
All ready to go
Put the bag in your Trangia and on to a boil for about 15 minutes
looks odd, but tastes fantastic, well done Davy !!!
Great idea! I remember eating food that was boiled in a plastic bag back in the day--things like chipped beef and gravy, or chicken a la king, stuff like that. But that it creates an omelet? Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny,it's a good idea and as I said well worth experimenting with,as you seem to have already done, good job!
DeleteAll it needs now is an original name, Mouldsys mushy mixture, Davys delicious delights or just , Egg ham garlic and cheese DMB! I can see it now in Cotswolds buy 1 get 1 free Sausage and beans DMB, Big breakfast DMB ( with real potato bread!) great post !
ReplyDeleteGood idea, but I think this has been around in one form or another for a while, Davy just modified it..(what does DMB stand for?)
DeleteIt's Davys Mushy Bag! The initialised version sounds better than the real phrase like BCB is browns cough bottle but BCB sounds better. Not that davys mushy bag would put people off then again it might! Lol!
ReplyDeleteYeah,I think it best to stick with the abbreviation, the full title has other connotations!
DeleteAnd still... What are these plastic bags? Will the ones from IKEA suit? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThey are just plain ziplock bags, I'm sure similar bags from Ikea would do.
DeleteThat is an awesome idea!!! Love that!!!
ReplyDeleteIm thinking fry a few onions first, add some chopped corn beef mmmmm
Just one question, did you get any of the ziplock bag melt?
I have never had any melt as long as they don't come into contact with the hot metal of the pot, but I have had bags open along their seem sometimes, just make sure you use good quality ziplock bags and you shouldn't have a problem.
